Calculate a fixed-asset depreciation plan - linear or digressive method, accounting for value changes over time.
Case study
A complete application, not just a form
The calculator interface communicates with an independent API. Calculations are performed by a custom domain engine running as a FastAPI service.
Solution architecture
A Lit and TypeScript component handles input, form state and schedule presentation.
The FastAPI REST API accepts the fixed-asset model and returns monthly schedule entries.
The Python engine handles straight-line and declining-balance depreciation, factors, value changes and rounding adjustments.
The backend runs in a container and is deployed automatically through Jenkins.
From ERP experience to an independent project
The depreciation calculator draws on domain knowledge I gained while working with Probit 's ERP system, including my work on its fixed-assets module. The algorithm, backend and user interface were developed independently for this personal project and use no Probit code or data.
